What to Prepare Before a First Consultation
When you book a first consultation about telepeage for your fleet, the quality of that call depends almost entirely on what you bring to it. A fleet manager who arrives with vehicle numbers, typical routes, and a rough monthly toll spend will leave with a concrete plan. Someone who shows up with only a general question about "how this works" will get a general answer.
This is not about preparing a formal document or filling out a spreadsheet. It is about having the right facts at hand so the consultant can give you something specific rather than a brochure. Here is what actually matters.
Vehicle registration details
Every truck over 12 tonnes needs its own FASTag linked to the fleet account. Before the call, list the registration numbers of the vehicles you want to cover. If you have 40 trucks, you do not need to read all 40 numbers aloud, but you should know the count and have the list ready to share. This determines the size of the account, the number of tags to issue, and the deposit structure.
Typical routes and corridors
Toll costs vary significantly by corridor. A truck running Delhi to Mumbai on NH48 will have a different monthly toll profile than one doing short hops between Gurgaon and Jaipur. Write down the three or four routes your vehicles use most often. This helps the consultant identify which stretches have high toll density, where a tag saves the most time, and whether route adjustments could reduce your monthly spend.
Current toll payment method
Are your drivers paying cash at the plaza? Do they already use FASTag but with individual accounts? Do you receive consolidated invoices or a pile of receipts? This matters because the transition effort is different in each case. If drivers already use FASTag, the conversation shifts to centralizing accounts and setting up a fleet dashboard. If they pay cash, the first step is tag issuance and driver training.
Monthly toll budget
You do not need an exact figure, but a rough range helps. A fleet spending 50,000 INR per month on tolls has different priorities than one spending 500,000 INR. The consultant can recommend the right account tier, discuss credit limits, and show how the transaction history will help you track spending by vehicle and route. Without a number, the advice stays generic.
Questions about the dashboard
Most fleet managers want to see the same things: which vehicle crossed which plaza, at what time, and for how much. Before the call, think about who in your team needs access to this data. Do you want the accounts team to see transactions but not change settings? Do drivers need a mobile view of their own tag balance? These access questions shape how the platform is configured from day one.
Bringing these five pieces of information to the first consultation does not take more than twenty minutes of preparation. But it changes the conversation from a general introduction to a working session where you leave with a clear next step. If you are not sure what to bring, ask the consultant beforehand. A good one will tell you exactly what they need.
If you have questions before booking, contact the team and they will walk you through what to prepare.
