Questions Clients Ask Before Starting
Before a fleet operator commits to a digital toll management platform, the same few concerns tend to surface. These are not about features or pricing sheets. They are about whether the system will hold up on a 1,200 km run from Gurgaon to Chennai, whether the tag works at every plaza, and what happens when a transaction goes wrong at 2 a.m. on a national highway.
This post collects the questions we hear most often during onboarding calls, along with the answers that usually settle the hesitation.
Will the badge work on all toll plazas?
Every badge issued through the platform is a standard FASTag linked to the vehicle's registration number. It is accepted at all toll plazas on national highways and most state highways that operate under the FASTag network. For a fleet running mixed routes, the tag behaves the same way a bank-issued FASTag would, with the difference that transactions flow into a single dashboard instead of scattered SMS alerts.
How does the fleet account handle multiple vehicles?
One account can hold several badges, each tied to a specific vehicle. When a truck crosses a plaza, the deduction is recorded against that vehicle's profile. The dashboard shows the transaction time, plaza name, amount, and remaining balance per vehicle. This matters for operators who need to reconcile toll spend against trip sheets or client billing.
What happens when the balance runs low?
The platform sends a low-balance alert before the account hits zero. Recharge can be done from the dashboard or through the mobile interface, and the amount reflects in the account within a few minutes. For fleets running overnight shifts, the alert threshold can be set higher so that a driver is never stuck at a plaza with an empty tag.
Can we see the route history for each truck?
Yes. Each transaction includes the plaza location and timestamp, which lets you reconstruct the route a vehicle took. This is useful when a driver deviates from the planned corridor or when you need to verify that a truck actually passed through a specific checkpoint. The history is stored for the current billing cycle and can be exported for accounting.
What if a transaction is deducted twice?
Duplicate deductions happen rarely, but they do occur when a vehicle stops at a plaza and the system registers two reads. In that case, the duplicate entry appears in the transaction log with the same timestamp and plaza. You can flag it from the dashboard, and the support team reviews it against the plaza's records. Resolution usually takes one working day.
Is there a minimum fleet size?
No. The platform works for a single truck as well as for a fleet of fifty. The difference is in how the dashboard is used. A smaller operator might just want the balance and transaction list. A larger one typically needs the vehicle grouping, monthly summaries, and per-route cost breakdowns. Both are available from the start.
If you are still unsure about a specific scenario, the onboarding team can walk through your usual routes and flag any plaza where the tag might need extra attention. That conversation usually clears the remaining doubts.
